Rising London rockers The Mud Coda have misplaced their founding lead singer, John Drake – who has moved again to his native Australia – and changed him with Andrew Knightly.
“I first met Andrew many, a few years in the past when The Mud Coda shared the identical stage with one among Andrew’s previous bands at North London’s legendary Huge Purple bar,” says Mud Coda founder and guitarist Adam Mackie. “We hit it off and stayed in contact ever since, following one another’s careers and completely different music releases.
“From that first assembly I knew Andrew was a fantastic singer, participant and all-round musician with an effortlessly cool persona that matches his nice persona. He has rock‘n’roll pumping by means of his veins and when this current crossroads for the band occurred I knew he’d be a fantastic match.
“Myself and the remainder of the blokes are pumped to be working with Andrew and actually excited concerning the TDC future at first of this new chapter.”

Posting on his Fb web page earlier this month, the departed Drake wrote, “2024 was fairly epic. Left London after 20 years. Left my band of 13 years. Made a solo report with my long-time collaborator Chass Guthrie.”
The primary fruits of the collaboration have been the acoustic Descending Love, launched in November, and one other stripped-back track, Totally different This Time, which got here out final month. Each are from the upcoming Trial Separations EP. Drake’s debut solo album can even be launched this 12 months.
