His first two solo releases resemble his optimistic power in a heartfelt strategy. Might’s debut single “So Good” is an instance of this actual ideology. “It’s humorous – it type of got here from a darkish place,” Tongren admits. “I’m dwelling in a chilly, darkish basement on the outskirts of Bushwick, making an attempt to get by each day…Winter was beginning and I feel I simply needed to really feel just a little bit of heat.”

In his sophomore solo launch, Tongren takes listeners on a visit to “Franconia,” a city within the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Amongst all of the surroundings, he makes use of Franconia as a metaphor referring to all of life’s beauties.

“‘Franconia’ is about falling in love – with an individual, a spot, or each all of sudden.  It’s the sudden, plain pull that feels destined,” Tongren explains. “Over time, Franconia turns into greater than only a place – it turns into a mind-set, a reminiscence, a metaphor for a way sure folks and locations depart their mark on you.”

Everybody has their very own Franconia – a spot that’s burned into their mind perpetually. Whether or not that could be a bodily place, a spot in time, or the place an individual has in your coronary heart. No matter it might be, Franconia is an image of freedom, an area away from the concerns on the planet. Typically all an individual can do is look again on their Franconia to remind them of what true happiness seems like.

Just like the tracks on some worn down practice
Ain’t frightened of dying
however i’m so frightened of change
Nevertheless it felt heaven despatched
when these clouds got here and went
And made means for the solar in your face
Yeah, I’ve fallen in love with this place

Discovering the charming features in life is bittersweet, wanting nothing greater than to be frozen in time. Though every little thing in life passes, reminiscences are by no means ending, and the reminiscence of Franconia will perpetually replay in Tongren’s head.
