Ari Lennox presents her followers with new music to rejoice her thirty fourth birthday (March 26). The DC native has launched her new music “Smooth Woman Period” by way of Interscope Data.
On the anthemic monitor, produced by hitmakers Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox, Lennox is able to commit to somebody who will carry peace and stability to her life. It’s a testomony to prioritizing self-care by being conscious of who she welcomes into her “Queen House.”
“Ain’t tryna do nothing however look fairly in right here / Hurry up and put me in my tender lady period / In firstclass, I ain’t goin’ nowhere / Nails, hair, hire paid, take me someplace,” she sings.
Lennox co-wrote “Smooth Woman Period” with Dupri, Cox, Ant Clemons and Gabrielle Rodgers.
In June 2024, Dupri shared behind-the-scenes footage of him within the studio with Lennox, Cox, Clemons, and Rodgers.

Dupri and Cox produced Lennox’s No. 1 hit “Strain” from her sophomore album, age/intercourse/location. The RIAA gold-certified single spent three weeks atop Billboard’s Grownup R&B Airplay chart.
Circling again to “Smooth Woman Period,” it follows Lennox’s “Smoke,” which was launched in October 2024. The retro-soul tune, produced by Bongo ByTheWay and Akeel Henry, peaked at No. 18 on the Grownup R&B Airplay chart.
In late February, Lennox teased that her third album is certainly on the best way. “Album coming child,” she wrote in an Instagram caption for a photograph of herself posed by a whiteboard with a blurred tracklist.
