To rejoice the album’s launch, the band have launched the third single and video from the album for the monitor “The Treatment,” a musical elixir composed of equal components killer refrain, nice groove, and big hooks with the band strutting a little bit of funk alongside the best way. Ray Alder’s introspective lyrics discover the intricacies of relationships and encompasses a hallmark refrain and distinctive background vocals. The tune opens with a drum fill and highlights a heavy riff that’s deceptively tough to play to a decent meter, although A-Z‘s assemblage of world-class musicians makes it sound simple.

Spearheaded by legendary drummer Mark Zonder (Fates Warning, Warlord) and together with former Fates Warning bandmate Ray Alder on vocals, A2Z² builds on the groundwork laid on the acclaimed 2022 self-titled debut album. The writing for the album started when Zonder and guitarist Nick Van Dyk (Redemption) began working with vocalist Alder on the album’s first single and de facto assertion, “Nothing Is Over,” showcasing the band’s dedication to creating heavy music that’s subtle however hooky and accessible. Serving to obtain these aural targets are bassist Philip Bynoe (Steve Vai/Ring of Hearth/Warlord), Italian guitarist Simone Mularoni (A2Z² mixing/mastering, DGM) and keyboard participant Jimmy Waldo (Alcatrazz/New England).
