Soul vocalist Leela James has returned together with her new single “Proper On Time.”
Produced by frequent collaborator Rex Rideout, “Proper On Time” finds James singing a few love that sweeps her off her ft on the good second. It speaks to the fixed nature of affection, all the time discovering us even after we least anticipate it.
“The way in which you give good like to me is true on time / And I used to be nearly to provide on up, however you got here proper on time,” she belts within the refrain.
James tells Rated R&B, “I’m so excited to be 20 years within the sport and that my music to be proper on time.”
“Proper On Time” follows Leela James’ “Whatcha Executed Now (Remix)” with Kenyon Dixon, launched in August 2024. She instructed Rated R&B, “Kenyon added one other layer of seasoning sauce to the Soul of this file and it made for the proper soulful R&B recipe.”

In June, James will have fun the twentieth anniversary of her debut album, A Change Is Gonna Come, named after Sam Cooke’s iconic tune that she additionally lined on the venture. The album additionally included her debut single, “Music,” produced by The Avila Brothers.
