Steel Blade could be very blissful to welcome Italian Doomster MESSA to it’s Worldwide roster!
MESSA play evoking doom metallic with middle-eastern vibes. Deliciously haunting feminine vocals, 70′s guitars and Arabian Oudh mix to conjure a sound that’s all of their very own. With influences as various as Useless Can Dance, Om, Swans, Killing Joke, Electrical Wizard, Thergothon, Present 93, the band has moved from the primary occult then noir-tinged doom metallic of their earlier works to a brand new atmospheric mediterranean sound which is exclusive. The evolution is clearly showcased of their newest studio album “Shut“.
MESSA emerged within the first day of 2014. Marco and Sara began to develop the essential idea whereas writing the primary songs. In a while, Alberto and Rocco joined the band. The intense range of their musical background instantly proved to be important within the building of the band’s sound. In 2016 their first opus “Belfry” was launched, and the band made a number of excursions throughout Europe and USA. In 2018 their second work “Feast For Water” introduced the band on tour much more extensively. Their newest studio work “Shut“, launched in 2022, was acclaimed by critics and was outlined “the sound of a band fleshing out their place in doom metallic’s previous, current and future” (Steel Injection). Some appearances made by the band have been Hellfest Open Air, Roadburn, and Desert Fest. The band’s newest document Stay At Roadburn was launched April seventh 2023, providing their main-stage triumph, joined by a novel constellation of musicians and devices. Seeming to each embrace and defy all the pieces it means to be a metallic band, MESSA mesh Mediterranean sounds with crushing doom riffs, with an emphasis on ambiance and strange use of instrumentation.
