R&B trio Moonchild has enlisted neo-soul legend Jill Scott and rapper Rapsody for his or her new single “Not Sorry.”
The top-nodding manufacturing bops and weaves by way of punchy keys and cinematic strings, setting a clean backdrop for one to set boundaries with a lover.
“I’m not your fixer / I’m not gonna spend my Saturday / Apologizing to your mess,” Moonchild’s Amber Navran sings together with her pillowy vocals.
Rapsody seems later within the monitor with fiery bars from the attitude of an estranged love curiosity: “She prioritizing herself / She speaking extra to God / She holding me accountable.”
Talking on their new single, Moonchild shares, “We wished this tune to really feel like a reclamation of voice and energy. To have Jill Scott and Rapsody be a part of us in telling that story is really an honor.”
“Not Sorry” arrives with a performance-style music video, which could be watched beneath.
“Not Sorry” is the primary single from Moonchild’s new album, set to reach in 2026. The upcoming mission is the follow-up to 2022’s Starfruit, which included options from Lalah Hathaway, Alex Isley, Tank and the Bangas, Rapsody and extra.
