-

In reference to my need to completely sustain with the J-pop business, I’m planning on doing a weekly round-up of any new releases which have caught my ear. A few of these could have been coated on the weblog already, however my hope is that it will develop into a one-stop store for anybody inquisitive about what’s new in J-pop.

With that in thoughts, right here’s the place you are available in: I’m one individual with one set of musical preferences, so please embed another new J-pop tracks you’ve loved within the feedback so we are able to get a fuller spectrum every week.

*And similar to I do with my opinions, I’ll wait till full variations of songs can be found earlier than posting them on this round-up. It will largely apply to Johnny’s teams, who nonetheless restrict the vast majority of their YouTube uploads to shorter, edited variations.

2025 Index: Dec 29 – Jan 11 // Jan 12 – Jan 18 // Jan 19 – Jan 25 // Jan 26 – Feb 1 // Feb 2 – Feb 8 // Feb 9 – Feb 15 // Feb 16 – Feb 22 // Feb 23 – Mar 1 // Mar 2 – Mar 8

Ado – Bouquet For Me

Fairly punchy and anthemic. I like this one.

Aina The Finish – Peerless Flowers

It’s all the time good to listen to her voice.

AsIs – Tejo o Kowase! (track of the week!)

I’ve by no means heard of this group earlier than however this track impressed me. I like the punchy brassiness of it.

ATARASHII GAKKO! – One Coronary heart

They’re as much as their quirky tips once more. This isn’t for me, however I’m certain it’s for somebody.

East Of Eden – IKIZAMA

A stable rock track with nice vocals.

Fantastics – Funktastic! (track of the week!)

I like this 90’s funky home sound. The track itself could possibly be higher, however total it’s a ton of enjoyable.

GNJB – LLL

It is a very slick, subdued sound for them. I choose them at their extra adventurous, however the track is sweet. It feels very Showa period.

King & Prince – Coronary heart (track of the week!)

This sounds extra like Koi Furu Tsukiyo ni Kimi Omou than we’ve heard in years and I’m contemplating {that a} victory. The video can be a variety of enjoyable.

Man With A Mission – Vertigo (track of the week!)

Man With A Mission are lastly again with a brand new EP! That is very stable rock monitor. I like the verses, particularly.

OWV – Swish

I completely love the primary thirty seconds. The remaining is fairly good however not precisely what I’d hope to listen to from the manufacturing. Then, the ā€œswish swishā€ half is downright terrible.

Ryosuke Yamada – Pink

That is not less than extra fascinating than his different solo tracks, however it’s nonetheless extra posturing than track if that is smart. I just like the bigness of the refrain, although.

Sekai No Owari – Kohaku

I like this band a lot, however I’m upset that this can be a quite muted ballad. It’s well-written, however not what I like most about their music.

SennaRin – Reviver-Lv.1007

A slower burn for her.

ukka – Journey To The Sky

Quirky and enjoyable.

Wolf Howl Concord – BAKUON

I like this extra in idea than execution. I want we heard extra of their vocals. It’s positively an odd monitor.

XG – Is This Love

I wrote about this right here. I favored it alright.

KIX-S – Mou Ichido Tenderness (1993)

There’s a sentiment and energy to early-90’s J-pop that simply can’t be replicated. KIX-S have been a wonderful feminine duo of the period and this can be a whole banger.
