Observe Premiere: Burndy – “Static”

Going again to the early ’80s, Chicago has a protracted status for noisy industrial rock. The house of Contact & Go and Wax Trax! Information, town has churned out many years of aggressive, edgy bands. New trio, Burndy, follows that custom in unconventional trend, as illuminated on their new single. “Static,” taken from their upcoming self-titled debut. The monitor is a gradual builder, that’s terse and nervous with large Pleasure Division power and a aspect of Sonic Youth. Burndy’s distinctive lineup—Jessie Ambriz (bass), Sally Sachs (bassoon), and Megan Emish (electrical ukulele/vocals)—creates a darkish, paranoid vibe on the track with minimal instrumentation.

Burndy was produced by Megan Emish and Sanford Parker. It was recorded at Electrical Audio and Hypercube Studios in October 2023, and engineered and blended by Sanford Parker.
