Oasis supervisor Alec McKinlay has firmly shot down hopes that Liam and Noel Gallagher’s reunited band will report and launch new music.
In an unique interview with UK music trade bible Music Week, celebrating the return of the London-based, Manchester-raised Britpop stars, McKinlay admits that the crew round Oasis have been “stunned” by the “phenomenal” worldwide response to the group’s return, which he confesses was “method past our expectations.” However when requested if there was the potential for the reformed group extending their touring plans past the 41 reveals already introduced, McKinlay insists this won’t occur, regardless of the demand to see the brothers and whoever else makes up the Oasis line-up in 2025.
“That is very a lot the final time round, as Noel’s made clear within the press,” he says, stating that Oasis might have offered out eight nights on the 82,500-capacity MetLife stadiums in New York in a single day, had they wished to.
“It’s an opportunity for followers who haven’t seen the band to see them,” he continues, “or a minimum of for a few of them to.”
Final month, Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones talked about in an interview with NME that when he final spoke with Noel Gallagher, Oasis’ predominant songwriter had been “performing some writing within the studio”, fuelling rumours (and hopes) {that a} new Oasis album could also be within the pipeline. Not so, says their supervisor, who can also be a director of the band’s Huge Brother Recordings label.
“No, there’s no plan for any new music,” he insists.
Final month, Noel Gallagher phoned in to TalkSport to speak to host Alan Brazil about his beloved Manchester Metropolis, and was requested by the presenter what he was as much as at current.
“I’m within the studio noodling round,” Gallagher replied. “Simply preparing for rehearsals to start out now in about three weeks. After which we’ll see what occurs.”
Requested by Brazil if his little brother was “behaving himself”, Gallagher mentioned, “He’s nice. I used to be with him yesterday really. He’s alright, he was on tip-top kind. He can’t wait… none of us can wait.”
